Up Dog Push-Ups | 15 REPS

Purpose:

Up Dog Push-Ups help to develop thoracic extension, shoulder opening, and a sense of active backbend control—key components of the Wheel Pose.

Remember: You’ve “passed” a movement once you can complete the rep or time goal with good form. Return to any movement whenever you need.

Why It Helps With Backbends

Wheel Pose requires strong and open shoulders, as well as active engagement of the back body. This exercise builds both flexibility and functional strength in that range.

Tips & Tricks

  • Keep your hips slightly lifted or supported if full Up Dog feels too intense.

  • Focus on pulling the chest forward and up, not just pressing through the arms.

  • Engage your glutes and thighs gently to protect the lower back.
